Cate Woodruff is an internationally recognized artist whose camera-based artwork has been acquired by numerous international public and private collections. It is represented in the collection of the International Center of Photography, has been shown at MoMA, and is onboard NASA’s OSIRIS-Rex spacecraft, ongoing for millennia. Her most recent permanent installation, six feet high and thirty feet long, is on view in New York University’s Langone Medical Center Lobby. The artist lives and works in New York and Sardinia, Italy. In single-shot digital photographs, using hand-made lenses crafted from found objects and layers of reflective and transparent surfaces, Woodruff connects, bends and distorts the boundaries of matter beyond the existence of form.
